This café is nested in the Chelsea Sugar factory that dates back to the 1800’s. With stunning views of the harbour bridge and the Waitemata harbour it was thrilling to create a space that fits and allows to enjoy the amazing surrounding.
With an exposed bakery in the front of house, the challenge was to make it functional and integrated to the look and feel of the space. An industrial kitchen was planned to be both practical and prepared for the busy days.
The design considers the daily work of the café with 80 total seats and has all the structure and versatility for functions and events.
